Very near my home on South 6th East! it looks wonderful with the snow. Was your mother the older sister or the younger? And is that your grandmother with them?
That is my grandmother in the last photo and the young child is actually Uncle Eugene dressed up like a girl with a hat that had a wig sewn to it. The one on the right is my mother, as is the second photo. I thought the house had been torn down, but I was on the wrong street, Lincoln, and not 10th East so my daughter, Mary Ann and I went there Sunday night after going to the new Meryl Streep movie. Was that a long sentence, or what?
Eugene was probably the most successful of the children and to my knowledge had no gender issues. He was an orthopedic doctor. He practiced successfully in Utah for years and was borrowed by Saudi Arabia for a couple of years. My Aunt Toni was game for everything he came up with. Unfortunatley, he died of a heart attack several years ago.

ReplyDeleteThat was a lovely, glorious long sentence! Well done! Poor Uncle Eugene. Did he have gender issues later?

Well, Uncle Eugene looks like a man in a happy setting!
ReplyDeleteThese things are always fascinating - so is this blog, which I have not visited before. Here's hoping 2010 will be the best ever for you and yours.
